About Nargis

Nargis Khan has painted and taught for more than 20 years. Her studio in North York has welcomed over 200 students, from first-time painters to people returning to a hobby they put down years ago.

She works mostly in acrylic, and her classes follow how she paints: start loose, build in layers, and trust the brush. Her work has been shown in Toronto galleries and community venues.

About my workshops

Each workshop is a two-hour guided session in acrylic. You paint your own piece and take it home. $50 per class, all materials included.

Live demonstration

Nargis paints on her own canvas in front of the class and talks through every step.

Paint together

You paint your own canvas while she paints beside you, so you can follow each stroke as it happens.

Help and fixes

She works with each student one to one, helps along the way and fixes any part of your painting that goes wrong.

Weekend group classes

Small groups, guided step by step. Learn alongside other people and leave with a finished painting.

Weekday private lessons

One-to-one sessions at your own pace, shaped around what you want to paint.

Our classes

  • Floral Painting

    Loose, layered blooms built with brush and palette knife. Thick paint, soft edges, and a lot of colour.

  • Abstract Painting

    Colour, texture and movement with no subject to get right. A good first class if you have never painted. Gold and silver leaf can be added to finish your work.

  • Calligraphy

Corporate and party events

Nargis also leads painting events for teams and groups, in the same guided, hands-on style as her classes. She has led holiday corporate parties and other corporate events.
